Mid-autumn festival

Last Sunday, we gathered at my mum's place to celebrate Mid-autumn festival. The kids were having lots of fun lighting up paper lanterns and hanging them around the house.

My abstract image of the lanterns hung around the house haha...

Buy Handmade, Help Support the Victims of Hurricane Katrina!

I've made a little charm and donated it to CraftRevolution.com where they've set up this special online store to help support the victims of Hurricane Katrina. All proceeds from the sales will go to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund to help the victims.

I was just informed by Craft Revolution that it's sold. Yay!

I found a nice blue heart-shaped bead that has silver stars on it. I matched it with a red stained glass. Doesn't it reminds you the color of America's flag? The heart-shaped bead resembles the heart of people from around the world... our heart goes out to the victims and their family.
To complete the look, I hung a bicone glass bead on the letter 'S' of USA.
I like to thank Jaime from US who has bought this little charm... :-)

Art fair at ACM

The alfresco art fair at Asian Civilisation Musuem went smoothly except for some complains here and there on the first day...

First of all, we were given 2 tables that has a very nice view of the Singapore River... how 'NICE'... with the bushes right in front of our tables. Who will see our products???!!

It's so unfair. So we complained to the organizer, but as the other vendors has their display all set up, it was inconvenient to ask them shift their tables to make space for ours. So we just have to bear with it for a day.

Another problem was our neighbour who's doing some service business, something to do with health. They have about 6 ladies standing right in front of their 2 tables, approaching anyone who passed by. I would say 8 out of 10 irritated customers just turned away from their tables, before reaching ours which was just next to them. Some of these ladies even stood in front of our tables and introduce their service to our customers. So we complained straight to them and to the organiser as well.

The weather was extremely hot and my skin developed heat rash. I looked like a skin cancer patient...
Then out of a sudden came the heavy downpour! The boxes and bags left on the floor were soaked and so were our shoes. The rain has prevented many people from walking in. What a day...

On the second day, everything went smoothly. Though weather still hot, but I've brought my heat rash lotion. Here's few photos of the things we were selling at the fair.

Colorful mugs and magnets painted by our friends...

Nice cool t-shirts designed by our friends too! I bought one with a giraffe print for my nephew and he loves it!!!

Doris's earrings and my pendants.

Fortunately sales was still ok despite some problems on the 1st day. I look forward to this coming weekend fair down at orchard road, crowd is so many times better than this fair.
